La série Comprendre pour traduire, publiée par SIL Global, offre une aide exégétique livre par livre à l’intention des traducteurs bibliques. Chaque volume propose une introduction (arrière-plan, but de l’auteur, contenu et plan), puis des notes explicatives qui éclairent le sens du texte source (hébreu / grec), signalent les interprétations divergentes ayant une incidence sur la traduction, et anticipent les difficultés posées par le langage figuré, la forme passive, la poésie ou les informations implicites. Elle s’adresse avant tout aux traducteurs dont le français n’est pas la langue maternelle. La ressource est accessible dans Paratext sous le projet TNNFR.
